The Vestry offers an excellent base for a great escape. This is the place for exciting mountain rides, endless walking adventures, stunning sandy beaches, spectacular steam railway journeys, or just relaxing in front of the wood burning stove with a glass of wine!
Records show The Vestry was built in 1870, when Queen Victoria was on the throne and William Gladstone was UK Prime Minister.
It’s in a conservation area at the end of a terrace of traditional cottages, right at the centre of Abercegir, a peaceful rural village. Apart from the odd traffic jam when they herd the sheep!
Since I purchased the cottage in February 2021, we’ve worked hard to carefully restore it whilst retaining its original features and rustic, quirky charm. No straight walls here!
We’ve made warmth and comfort a priority at The Vestry with a new electric heating system and wonderfully comfy beds. Just what you need for a good night’s sleep at the end of your adventure day.
Although the mobile signal may be a bit ‘iffy’(this is Wales!), we make up for it with great Wi-fi here. We’ve added special pop-up power-points to the purpose designed Monks Bench dining area so you can charge your phone and plug in your laptop. Making things easy if you bring work with you.
Escape to a traditional Welsh cottage in magical Mid-Wales.
